Hello! My name is Bianca and I’m a wife, mother, foodie and fitness lover from Michigan. I started running regularly in February 2013 to get fit. I quickly realized what a great stress reliever it was! If you asked me to describe myself from 2014 to early 2017, I’d say I was a ‘challenge seeker.’ I was always looking for the next big challenge. I took a year off from long distances in 2018, with the second half of the year being spent dealing with a mysterious lower leg injury. I made 2019 my year to continue chasing my “big” goal of a sub-2 half marathon finish. I was (and still am!) thrilled that I was able to finally join that sub-2 club (and consistently finish in it all 3 of my half marathon races in 2019)! After my Spring races in 2019, I’ll be backing off of running before I ramp it up again for my last race of the year in September. After this race, I’ll be backing off of running (possibly cutting it almost altogether) to change my focus to strength training where I’d like to work on fixing some muscle imbalances and continue gaining overall strength to become a stronger athlete. I won’t be done running forever, but I am excited to change things up for a while too.
I’ve always loved the challenge of running and how going for a run makes me feel. I love the example it sets for my daughter. I love that she sees the amazing impact that being active can have on your life. I love that running brings my entire family together. Competing or not, they’re all there at the races.
Some of my favorite non-fitness things: Music (everything from Hanson to Keith Urban to Maroon Five), boating with my family, my adorable dog, gardening, and listening to podcasts or health YouTube videos (anything health related — I’m a big fan of Dr. Mark Hyman, Chris Kresser, Dr. Anthony Gustin, Dr. Axe, and Dr. Eric Berg).
Thank you for stopping by & happy running!
