So a week ago, on Instagram, I announced that I’m officially part of the inaugural Garmin Crew group (…And forgot to share here!)! Garmin is the only brand of watch I’ll ever buy again…that’s how great they are!
I was first introduced to the brand when I started training for my first full marathon. I used the Forerunner 220 for that race and was so happy with it! But, after my triathlon in 2015, I thought I’d be in the water more often so I bought the Fenix 3 (Sapphire collection). Although I haven’t been in the pool or open water a much as I thought, I’m so glad I bought it. It’s nice to have a GPS watch that is also fashionable for daily wear.
I also noted on Instagram today how this watch has been playing a huge part in my injury recovery game! There is a Stretching app that came pre-loaded on my Fenix 3, and it’s been AHHH-MAZING! Click here to find out if your Garmin is compatible. My only regret is that I didn’t start using this feature sooner!
This is literally the most simple app, and it has made a huge difference for me. There is a countdown timer to start to allow you to get into position for your first stretch (which is set at 5 seconds, but it also adjustable), then you’ll feel the watch vibrate (and/or sound – you can choose) and it’ll go into your first stretching timer of 45 seconds (which is also adjustable – I kept it at this as well). This 5 second / 45 second timer continues until you wish to stop it. So gather your favorite stretches and get stretching!
